Sofia, Bulgaria – 18th March 2026: NetIX, the multi-award-winning global Internet Exchange and interconnection platform, is proud to announce a new traffic peak: the NetIX platform has passed the 6 terabits per second (Tbps) milestone. This achievement marks another significant step in NetIX’s rapid acceleration and continued growth in the global peering marketplace.
The milestone was achieved three months after hitting 5Tbps, and one day ahead of Neterra’s 30th anniversary - NetIX’s parent company - underscoring the company’s dedication to continued growth and network expansion over the past three decades.
With this achievement, NetIX is now ranked as the ninth largest Internet Exchange Point (IXP) platform in the world by peak traffic and remains the fastest growing IXP globally, reflecting strong demand for its distributed exchange model.
While global IXPs continue to expand their capacities, NetIX emphasises that its ranking is part of a dynamic and evolving landscape, where traffic volumes across leading exchange platforms are increasing. NetIX’s growth rate has consistently outpaced many peers, reinforcing its strategy of scaling capacity and footprint to meet customer demand.
