Sofia, Bulgaria – 26th May 2026: NetIX, the leading global distributed platform for award-winning connectivity and peering solutions, has surpassed 7 Terabits per second (Tbps) of peak traffic across its network. This marks another significant milestone in NetIX’s continued expansion and reinforcing its position as one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing Internet Exchange platforms.
This latest achievement highlights a period of rapid and sustained growth. In just two years, NetIX has more than doubled its peak traffic, increasing from 3 Tbps to over 7 Tbps; this steady upward trajectory saw the platform achieve 4 Tbps in December 2024, 5 Tbps in November 2025, and 6 Tbps in March 2026, reflecting the growing demand for scalable, high-performance connectivity and peering among networks worldwide.
NetIX’s Global Internet Exchange (GIX) platform enables networks to connect to more than 50 Internet Exchanges and access over 10,000 visible networks through a single port, cross-connect, and contract. This streamlined approach allows customers to expand their reach, reduce latency, and optimise costs while maintaining high levels of performance and reliability.
“Reaching 7 Tbps is an exciting milestone for us, but equally, it’s a reflection of the trust and collaboration we share with our partners and customers,” said Elaine Dixon, Marketing and Partnerships at NetIX. “As our platform continues to grow, so do the opportunities for every network connected to it, too. Each new member brings additional value to the ecosystem, benefiting all participants through increased reach and traffic exchange. We firmly believe in working alongside Internet Exchanges as partners rather than competitors - together, we are building a stronger, more efficient, and more connected global Internet.”
“Our continued traffic growth is driven by sustained investment in capacity, resilience, and intelligent traffic management,” said Dean Belev, VP of Connectivity, at NetIX. “The NetIX platform is engineered to scale efficiently, supporting increasing traffic volumes while maintaining low latency and high availability. By aggregating routes from multiple exchanges and optimising traffic flows, we ensure consistent performance for our customers as demand continues to accelerate.”
As global data consumption continues to rise, NetIX remains focused on expanding its platform, onboarding new IXPs, and increasing capacity to meet future demand. The company’s continued growth underscores its role as a key enabler of global connectivity, supporting networks in delivering faster, more reliable digital experiences worldwide.
