Sofia, Bulgaria & Makati City, Philippines – 22nd June 2026: NetIX, the leading global Internet Exchange and interconnection platform, is proud to announce that Eastern Telecommunications Philippines Inc. (ETPI), the Philippines’ first telecommunications company and world-class provider of ICT solutions, has joined its multi-award-winning Global Internet Exchange (GIX), to further expand its reach across Europe and beyond.
As a newly onboarded member, ETPI is accessing the GIX platform from Equinix Singapore’s SG1 facility. The initial deployment is provisioned at 10G, with plans to scale this capacity as traffic demands grow, and routing optimisation opportunities are identified.
By joining NetIX’s GIX, ETPI gains access to a global ecosystem of interconnected networks, enabling more efficient traffic exchange across regions. This strategic move is expected to significantly reduce reliance on costly IP transit services, delivering immediate cost efficiencies whilst improving overall network performance.

Through the GIX’s highly meshed architecture, ETPI will benefit from lower latency and enhanced resiliency. With direct access to multiple networks, data paths are shortened, ensuring faster delivery of content and services. In the event of any route disruption, traffic is automatically rerouted through alternative paths, maintaining seamless connectivity and zero service interruption.
This improved performance and reliability will directly enhance the user experience of ETPI’s customers, strengthening their service offering and supporting its reputation as the leading telecommunications provider in the Philippines.
