Sofia, Bulgaria & Makati City, Philippines – 22nd June 2026:  NetIX, the leading global Internet Exchange and interconnection platform, is proud to announce that Eastern Telecommunications Philippines Inc. (ETPI), the Philippines’ first telecommunications company and world-class provider of ICT solutions, has joined its multi-award-winning Global Internet Exchange (GIX), to further expand its reach across Europe and beyond.

As a newly onboarded member, ETPI is accessing the GIX platform from Equinix Singapore’s SG1 facility. The initial deployment is provisioned at 10G, with plans to scale this capacity as traffic demands grow, and routing optimisation opportunities are identified.

By joining NetIX’s GIX, ETPI gains access to a global ecosystem of interconnected networks, enabling more efficient traffic exchange across regions. This strategic move is expected to significantly reduce reliance on costly IP transit services, delivering immediate cost efficiencies whilst improving overall network performance.

“Our collaboration with NetIX represents a critical enhancement of Eastern Communications’ network architecture,” according to Edsel Paglinawan, Eastern’s VP and Chief Revenue & Innovation Officer. “By integrating into the GIX fabric, we are enabling direct peering, optimized routing, and significantly reduced latency across key international corridors. This strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance, carrier-grade connectivity that meets the demands of today’s data-intensive and latency-sensitive applications."

Through the GIX’s highly meshed architecture, ETPI will benefit from lower latency and enhanced resiliency. With direct access to multiple networks, data paths are shortened, ensuring faster delivery of content and services. In the event of any route disruption, traffic is automatically rerouted through alternative paths, maintaining seamless connectivity and zero service interruption.

This improved performance and reliability will directly enhance the user experience of ETPI’s customers, strengthening their service offering and supporting its reputation as the leading telecommunications provider in the Philippines.

“We are pleased to welcome ETPI to the NetIX ecosystem,” said Dean Belev, VP of Connectivity Services at NetIX. “It is an honour to support their initial exploration of peering, and we look forward to their continued growth and success as they benefit from the platform.”

In addition, NetIX’s GIX simplifies ETPI’s peering strategy by consolidating access to more than 50 Internet Exchanges through a single cross-connect and port. This streamlined approach significantly reduces operational complexity, enabling ETPI’s network engineers to provision and manage connectivity more efficiently and not be weighed down by time-consuming administrative tasks.

NetIX continues to expand its global footprint, delivering scalable, cost-effective, and high-performance connectivity solutions to partners worldwide through its innovative GIX platform.
