NetIX adds a further two IXPs to its Global Internet Exchange service

Sofia, Bulgaria – 21st August 2023: NetIX, the leading global distributed platform for award-winning connectivity and peering solutions, has today announced the addition of a further two Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) to its already-extensive list of connected exchanges improving its peering services for members and providing a better selection of ASNs from across the globe.
NetIX has added InterLAN, the largest Romanian interconnection platform with traffic peaks of 400Gbps, and LocIX, the non-profit, open-policy, local IXP for Dusseldorf, Netherlands and Frankfurt to its ecosystem of Internet Exchanges.
The addition of InterLAN and LocIX to the NetIX platform brings the number of newly connected Internet Exchanges over the past month up to five.
Members can connect to either of these exchanges directly and appear as if physically present at each exchange via NetIX’s remote peering service or, as part of a bigger peering solution, by blending their connected ASNs with 30+ other IXPs using the award-winning Global Internet Exchange (GIX) service, and access 10,000+ ASNs via one port, one cross connect, and one contract.
“NetIX is a dynamic and fast-growing IXP; its position in the IXP ranks keeps climbing as new targets are reached which is no easy feat because these targets are moving as the other IXPs grow as well – we’re just doing it faster,” said Elaine DIxon, Marketing and Partnerships Manager at NetIX. “Adding five new IXPs in less than two months will be highly beneficial for our members as they’ll be able to access more networks and ASNs without having to do anything extra – when we grow, they benefit.”
"By adding these two exchanges, our peering ecosystem has increased once again, and continues to provide incredible value to each one of our members,” said Dean Belev, VP of Services at NetIX. He continued, “The number of available routes has grown dramatically over the past couple of months and members can now access over 10,000 ASNs which will actively lower their networks’ latency, improve its resiliency, all whilst reducing operational and running costs.”
NetIX has always been a key player in Internet Exchanges and peering enablement, not just by connecting new members and reaching new traffic peaks, but also with regards to supporting users and adding new services they could benefit from. It’s this attitude that helped NetIX earn and secure the prestigious title of “Best Peering Operator of the Year” at the Carrier Community Global Awards in June.
