NetIX Supports the Next Generation of Network Builders with AS214757 Collaboration
Sofia, Bulgaria – 24th June 2026: NetIX, the leading global distributed platform for award-winning connectivity and peering solutions, today announced its support for AS214757, an educational, non-commercial networking project founded by 15-year-old Jakub Krša from the Czech Republic.
Driven by a deep curiosity about how the Internet works, Jakub has independently built his own network, providing free tools, guidance, and services - including IPv6 transit, and a tunnel broker - to help aspiring engineers and hobbyists gain hands-on experience in networking.
Seeking to expand his reach and improve connectivity for his growing community, Jakub approached NetIX with a clear goal - to connect to NetIX in NIKHEF data centre in Amsterdam - a major hub of connectivity in the city - and strengthen peering, particularly toward Bulgaria.
Impressed with Jakub’s drive, NetIX has supplied AS214757 with a 10G NetIX port and 10G of the Global Internet Exchange (GIX) service, and 10 Mbps of Neterra IP Transit ensuring additional upstream resilience.
Through this collaboration, Jakub has achieved improved connectivity and lower latency for users and peers, valuable real-world experience in managing interconnection, peering, and transit, with increased visibility and credibility within the global telecom community.
“At NetIX, we believe in the power of community and the importance of nurturing the next generation of network builders,” said Dean Belev, VP of Connectivity at NetIX. “By supporting Jakub and AS214757, we are not just enabling a single project, but we’re helping to inspire and empower the future of global connectivity.”
This solution was provided free of charge, enabling Jakub to improve his network reach without the heavy financial burden, while continuing to support his educational and community-driven mission.
His initiative has already attracted support from other leading industry organizations including AMS-IX, CDN77, and NL-IX, with further discussions underway with other regional operators. If you would like to support Jakub in his networking endeavours, please get in touch via the as214757.net website.
